Well done. You just lost the tutorial level.
Guess who's replaying Spirit Tracks?
And like Tubba Blubba, I kind of drew this because my previous drawings of this guy fill me with horror and shame.
My favorite Zelda character (well, second fave. My main favorite is the half-mummy man locked in a closet that's planning to eat his daughter) is an evil demon leprechaun with a high pitched voice. I'm the worst fan in the world.
After drawing that one picture with Chancellor Candy, I had to draw Chancellor Cole from The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks for real, especially since nintendo-fc is having a contest where I'm considering entering with a Malladus!Puppet Zelda picture. I find it funny that basically my Zelda fanart is basically just drawings of this one guy when most of the fandom doesn't even really like said guy. I blame the fact that I like short angry men with sharp teeth.
I always found it kind of weird that Batreaux in Skyward Sword had wings but Chancellor Cole didn’t even though they’re both the same species. I mean, I guess you could say it's like the Zoras in that there's multiple branches of the same race, but still. What became a speculation doodle (what if Cole’s demon form had wings and sharp claws like Batreaux instead of just the horns?) went a little too far and became sort of like an alternate version of the opening cutscene, complete with beefed up demonic reveal. Purple smoke and hats flying off just seemed a bit...anti-climactic, especially considering how "subtle" Chancellor Cole was being with his evilness. If you're gonna be evil, go all out.
My theory is that Cole just prefers to levitate and teleport because teleportation doesn't shred 250 rupee coats the way wings do. Well done, Cole. You just blew a hole in a perfectly good outfit.
I also drew him with a cane because why not.
Well, this was fun to shade. I tried a new shading technique where I put my lights on a separate layer and do that first instead of shading with the darker shades first and then putting the lights on after that. I really liked how it came out.
Regardless, I'll probably revisit this tomorrow and fix any problem areas I see with the shading.
