AC-The Doctor is OUT...of Good Jokes

Why didn't people tell me that there was an axolotl in the Animal Crossing franchise and that he was a dorky doctor running around and trying to get people in touch with their emotions by telling bad jokes? This is what I get for only playing the Gamecube game until getting the 3DS game; I ended up getting bombarded with all these NPCs that didn't exist in the Gamecube version.

I promised myself I wouldn't succumb to Animal Crossing fanart like the rest of the Internet seems to have done, but then this character recently grew on me just from his sheer patheticness. Just look at this dork and his little bucktooth, unibrow, and weird hair despite being an amphibian. Dr. Shrunk's just a middle-aged sack of a washed up comedian with a terrible home life (a good portion of his jokes are him mentioning how little his wife loves him because his jokes are more depressing than funny) but he still manages to have a cheery outlook despite the whole thing. Although I imagine part of it is that he’s trying to postpone the inevitable mental breakdown he’s gonna have.

This...came out a lot darker than I expected it to. But then again, after you find out he has a fear of tomatoes from being pelted with them and that his jokes have made his crowds get angry enough to chase after him, it’s sort of easy to go this direction. Poor Dr. Shrunk.

Tried to make the shading all light-soaked since he's in a spotlight (which isn't a setting I've drawn before, oddly), but since this was a quick painting, it probably just plain doesn't look too good. Aww well. This is just kind of filler while I'm work on some of my original characters. I kind of hit the fanart a bit too hard this summer, hee hee.
