Edit: Fixed Klungo's right hand because originally it was too small. It's still a little small but at least now it doesn't look ridiculously tiny compared to his left one.

First, let me link everyone to the epic Rareware-esque boss music!

It's odd how Banjo-Kazooie is like one of my favorite games of all time (I still consider it and Banjo-Tooie to be the best 3D platformers of all time, because it truly is) and yet I have practically no fanart of it. That needed major correcting.

Plus Klungo doesn't nearly have enough artwork. Looks like Nuts and Bolts didn't help his popularity.

Some coloring practice that turned into some random fanart. The game this guy was in had an interesting way of shading the character models. Since the game was on the N64 and lighting effects were very primitive, they had to give the illusion of lighting by shading the characters' bodies in a fun, colorful way with layering saturated colors on top of one another. So I tried that. Not sure if I succeeded but it sure is fun to try.

I'll be honest. Klungo is one of my favorite characters even though he didn't have much to do in Banjo-Kazooie. Banjo-Tooie, he had such an awesome character arc. It's funny how he's a scientist capable of making potions that can turn you invisible and yet he couldn't figure out how to move a boulder.
...but to be fair, those chemicals are probably doing something to his brain...and his looks...and his eye. Yeah, Klungo probably shouldn't ingest so many glowy chemicals. His intellect keeps fluctuating.

I always feel like a hypocrite because normally I'm really lax when it comes to character redesigns...except when it comes to the Banjo-Kazooie characters. Come on, going from this to this googly-eyed monstrosity in Grunty's Revenge is just insulting. Nuts and Bolts Klungo was okay though, even if I didn't like the direction they took with him personality-wise.

Tried to combine all of the Klungos into this picture. I mostly kept to Banjo-Kazooie/Banjo-Tooie Klungo because he truly is the best Klungo, but I did like the Grunty's Revenge Klungo's eye color and the fact that Nuts and Bolts Klungo's labcoat was falling apart. Tried to make all-encompassing Klungo so that everybody's happy.

As for why he's not wearing any pants, it was the 90's. Videogame characters were typically buck-naked in cartoony animal platformers because it was a pain in the butt to render clothes. Just look at how scantily clad the cast of the Spyro, Croc, and Klonoa games are.

Back to drawing more fanart for a show in the 80's nobody watched. Hooray, priorities!
