Bravestarr-Scuzzy Debauchery

Bravestarr was the most responsible children's cartoon ever, having one of the characters be a smoker, a drinker, a smuggler, and a gambler all at once. Sometimes he'll even do it all within a small time frame. I love the 80's and its utter disregard of censorship sometimes.

...okay, Scuzz doesn't actually drink and gamble on the show (although he does mock someone for not handling alcohol, so he most likely does), but he does in this awesome Italian comic (note the empty flasks) and one of his main skills in the off-model toy merchandise is that he's a "dirty dealer", which in the Old West was a term for gamblers that went out of their way to cheat.

So basically Scuzz is kind of a horrible person. I have to wonder if it was because twenty years of Tex Hex corrupted him to being as terrible as he is, or if he really does like the thrill of being an absolute sinner.

...and yes, I realize this looks similar to a drawing did. That was unintentional, I swear.

I actually drew this while I was drawing this picture because I like doodling little attitude sketches to make sure I'm getting the personality right. It's only recently that I looked at the sketch and thought "Hey, maybe I should finish it and then slap color on it in Photoshop."

So instead of doing clean lines and coloring and shading everything in Photoshop, I only did part-way shading on top of pencil lines. I usually don't do this because most of the time I really don't like how it comes out and it looks "dirty", but I liked how it came out here.
...until I go "OH GOD MY PHOTOSHOP SUCKS WHY!?" in about two-three days. XD

I'm going to risk getting labelled as "The Scuzz Artist", but he truly is fun to draw. He's basically a tobacco smoke-filled potato sack of fun.

Will definitely try to draw the other characters of the show...one of these days. XD
